Current listening:PeterPan-Mimpi Current reading:IKEA catalogs. **************************************** First, let me get this outta my chest first, After watching the fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith (Mrrrr. Anderrrson, surprise to see me?) in the rain showed during Letterman last night, I think Matrix:Revolution still have potential. Even after the confusing Matrix:Reloaded. To me, Matrix:Reloaded tried its best to be the Empire Strikes Back of the Matrix saga in a sense i tried to be a great in betweener that makes you wanna watch the next one. 'Empire' succeded there by giving the moviegoers what they didn't expect. It started with a bang on Planet Hoth, Yoda teaches Luke the way of the force, they cut Luke's hands off, Vader reveal he is Luke's father and carboniting Han Solo thus making sure the next movie will be full of adventure (of, most Star wars geek can AND will argue a bit of Boba Fett doesn't hurt). By way of Matrix:Reloaded although admittedly a great movie as a whole, isn't so great on its own. With all the great hits it proiduce, a few misses tag along for the ride. Firstly, the dance scene in Zion should be edited off (unless it was meant to be dancing on the graves of the agents ;)) right after Morpheous speech. The overly lonnngggg speech by The Architect was confusing albeit revealing a few info (even Neo looked a bit confuse), and the fight scene. Yes, the fight scene (burly brawl, highway fight)was tremenduously coreographed, but, it can be a bit long and makes it lost focus. All of the misses makes the audience forgot about the shining moment that was there. The introduction of The Twins, All the scene involving Merovingean (is that how you spell it?) especially the cursing in France scene (anybody have a copy of that?) and the orgasmic cake (I should get the recipe, ;P) My favorite? When Neo flew breaking the sound barrier in lightning speed trying to help Morpheous at the highway. Priceless. Still, the Matrix was intended as a trilogy, so it should be watch as a trilogy. Let's pray, and pray hard that all the weak plots in Reloaded was due to the 1st Matrix ( Lets called it Matrix:Installing, hehe)was such a great movie and Revolution wasn't out, yet. Come this November 5, hope all hell break loose (in a good way) and Revolutions will be the best movie ever. It will be the mother of all trilogy movie and untied all the clutter and mess that was Reloaded. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not dissing Reloaded, just it wasn't supposed to be watch on its own, just so we won't have to scratch our head so much. At least, Matrix:Reloaded wasn't another sappy love story that was Attack of the Clones. Gearge Lucas wasn't supposed to write mushy, whiny, sappy stuff. Although believe you me, come 2005, I will be one of the geek waiting in line to get a ticket for the next movie. or two. So the conclusion? November is the month of The Matrix and Lord of the Rings takes over December. What a cool time to be a movie geek. See ya at the cinema, beware the geek with the mineral water bottle. |
